Dr. Norbert Christmann, DVM
Dr. Norbert Christmann was born in Melfort, Saskatchewan, Canada. He had worked a variety of jobs in northern Canada centering around construction and maintenance of hydro electric projects before turning his attention to the Veterinary field in 1984. He completed his under graduate studies at The University Of Manitoba and attended The Western College Of Veterinary Medicine in Saskatoon Saskatchewan Canada, graduating in 1994. He was a bit apprehensive at first, but he quickly grew into his role when he took over The Animal Clinic of Wekiva in December of 2013.
Since graduation, he has worked at a variety of mixed animal and small animal practice’s in western Canada, South Dakota and here in Florida. He has a special professional interest in auto-immune diseases.
He has lived in Florida since 2008 with his family that consists of his wife Adrienne, four grandkids (Maddox, Graydon, Lincoln & Kayden) and four rescue dogs (Gidget, Remy, Pita & Peanut). His personal interests include photography, audio, anything to do with science and the outdoors.
Adrienne’s position with Animal Clinic of Wekiva is co-owner, receptionist, manager, etc. With her husband Norbert, they started operating the vet clinic in November of 2013.
She is originally from Northern Manitoba where she lived all her life. She and her husband operated a mixed veterinary clinic, mostly cattle (90%).
They then moved to South Dakota where Dr. Christmann worked at a mixed practice, half large and half companion animal. They stayed there for five years and decided to move someplace where it was a bit warmer and not as much snow to shovel. Also better for his allergies.
They have now been in Florida for 11 years – where did the time go? It went so fast!
She love working in the field because animals love you unconditionally – no questions, no arguments. Also so she can use what I learn to help take care of my own pets properly.
Her family consists of her daughter, son, 4 grandsons, 5 dogs (Remy, Peanut, Gidget, Pita, Cookies), 3 birds (2 African Grey and 1 Blue Amazon), and of course her Husband.
In her free time she is working out, reading and watching Netflix, playing in baseball tournaments, arm wrestling, scuba diving and snorkeling. She also volunteers at pet shelters.
Summer started with The Animal Clinic of Wekiva back in June of 2017. She was born in Traverse City, MI and was raised in Naples, FL where she moved to Longwood shortly after she graduated High School. While she doesn’t work directly with animals, she still loves how rewards it is to know that she’s going her part in helping clients receive quality care for their pets. She knew she was in the right industry when she realized she woke up every day looking forward to the day ahead.
When she’s not in the clinic, she enjoys spending time wih her 2 daughters Payton and Hailey, her fiance Douglas, her dog Bruiser and rabbit Cedric. She also enjoys anything outdoors such as boating, going to the beach, fishing and photography. She also loves going to Disney and taking her family to new place.
Heather has been a Technician with The Animal Clinic of Wekiva since June of 2018. She has been a Veterinary Technician for 18 years and grew up in the area.
She began working in the veterinary industry because she loves animals and really wanted to help creatures that did not have their own voice. She believes animals are honest and pure, and she loves knowing that she is able to make a difference.
When she is not in the clinic, she enjoys spending time with her family, her husband, daughter, and 9 cats (Foster, Toby, Willie, Tickle, Kisses, JR, Raven, Macy & Alley). She also enjoys music, reading and watching hockey.
Daniela, a.k.a Dani, has been with The Animal Clinic of Wekiva for 4 years now. She came from Columbia when she was 12 years old and worked her way up through graduating High School and starting a Veterinary Technician program at Westside Tech. She is currently going to PennFosters to complete her techncian degree. Her first job was working at a pet store and grooming salon where she gained a lot of valuable experience and knowledge on breed behaviors.
Since she was little, she has enjoyed being around animals and her favorite part of working in the veterinary field is that shes able to build an understanding of what goes on under all that fur and how to spot signs of illness and injury in animals so that she can better help and care for her own furry friends. She knew that she was in the right industry when she woke up excited, every day, to go to work and be around great people that motivate her to be the best at what she does.
She has a 3 year old American Bully named Sniper a.k.a Hippo and he’s her best friend and greatest company. Her personal interests include cheering people up, loves listening to music, reading, traveling, and also loves food.
She is glad she is able to be part of the Animal Clinic of Wekiva family and is thankful for the opportunity the Christmann’s gave her which allowed her to follow her passion.
